Starting as a Sales Associate, he has served as Finance Manager, Finance Director, GSM, GM, and President/COO. Clausen has a very extensive training background, including Human Resources Training, Scott McRae Leadership Training, Dave Anderson Leadership Training, Nissan Dealer Advisory Board, Dale Carnegie Training, GMAC Management Training, NADA Academy, and many others. Clausen’s areas of expertise include Dealer Development, Reinsurance, Process Improvement, Dealership Profitability, and Finance Training and Development.

Having spent almost three decades in the automotive industry, Joe has extensive experience both in retail sales and finance roles, as well as with the insurance side of the business. He began his career in 1993 in finance, and went on to hold multiple sales, finance, and leadership roles over the next 15 years. In 2008, Joe transitioned to the role of regional finance manager for Zurich North America, working firsthand with dealership owners and their teams to create and exceed long-term, sustainable goals. Joe also served as a district manager for Risk Theory Dealer Advisors, acquiring new business and working toward long-term, organic growth. At iA American, Joe oversees the Southeast region of dealers, with the overarching goal of providing exceptional F&I products and services, meeting the dealers’ needs, and empowering them to be successful.
